New year, new venue, new charity and lots of new members so we decided to give the network a face lift. Our old logo was put together by founder Zandra Moore, “when I designed it I had not imagined we would be using it for posters, websites and marketing like we are”. The new logos are clean, bright and professional. We are showing them to members to get their feedback on which one they like.
Network memeber Lindsey Bailey from Broadway Designs re-designed the logo which incorporates a business and community feel.
“Lindsey turned around the designs so quickly we discussed it at the network meeting and had new logos the following morning” said Zandra Moore.
We were delighted to have so many new members turn up to our first network meeting in at our new venue for 2011, The Thornhill Arms. A big thank you to The New Inn for hosting us through 2010. Every month new members join the network, however this month we saw a big increase in new people. Largely due to the great local publicity provided by Mad Publications Local Focal, posters in local public and commercial premises and word of mouth. Welcome to the following new members:-
David Williams MBE – Leonard Cheshire
Lisa Hamilton – Cafe Village
Christina Fox – Outdoor Designs
Jane Howdon – Blooms & Baskets
Barrie Rhodes – The Property Partnership
We would like to make special mention and congratulations to David Williams who recieved his MBE this year. David was keen to express how this was a community award and we should all be proud of it and that it is thanks to the many people have inspired David over the years.
David went on to say it was groups and organisations such as The Calverley Business Network, Calverley in Bloom, Calverley Rotary, Friends of Calverley Woods, Leonard Chesire and the two fantastic schools and churches which make Calverley such a wonderful community. Calverley is such a special place with a great sense of commuinity and continuing to support one another was increadibly important.
